Where ingenuity meets care

Johnson & Johnson is here to transform the future of health with you. We are tremendous believers in the power of science, but we know that patient-centered innovation only happens when we intimately understand human behaviours, emotions and lived experiences.

We are continuously working to develop treatments and aspiring to find cures. Johnson & Johnson has a rich history of pioneering new ways of doing things, but we're still searching for ways to better understand and eliminate friction along the healthcare journey so that we can support patients in an integrated way, to deliver better care for all.

Together with clinicians and leading advocacy groups we have invested significantly to deepen our understanding of patient's thoughts, ideas and concerns about their end-to-end healthcare journey. We've co-designed advocacy campaigns, built evidence-based communications initiatives to improve health literacy, and invested in programs that are delivering tangible change in patient outcomes. We do more than listen - we act.

There is always more we can do to improve the patient experience and deliver better outcomes across every person's healthcare journey. That is why we are committed to learning, understanding and remaining curious about every patient's experience. We are eager to share our learnings with industry, clinicians and the broader healthcare eco-system so that together, we can deliver true patient-centered care.

Inspired by patients, we take health personally because health is personal.

What science and care means to us

We sat down with leaders from advocacy groups a to hear their thoughts on the current state of patient centricity in healthcare. What does it truly mean for science and care to come together to support patients? What are we doing and what more could we do in the future? From the quality of information, to involvement in decision making; hear what matters for our patient communities.

Designing with patients, not just for patients

As an innovative medicine organisation, our job is not just to treat diseases - it's to treat people. We innovate with purpose to lead where medicine is going. We believe that to improve the health of patients, we must integrate the human perspective at every stage: from scientific discovery through to disease management.

Mapping the end to end experience through the lens of patients means we can better understand the moments that matter to them. This is what they told us:

Patient experience over their healthcare journey

Underlying motivations impacting patient behaviour and response to different aspects of their disease and treatment

Moments that matter and opportunities for improvement within the healthcare system

Potential solutions to improve the patient experience and aspects of care that matter them

Snapshots of our work

Blending science and care we will continually strive to make a profound impact on the future of health for everyone, everywhere.

We want to continue to work with patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, government and industry to drive health forward in an increasingly complex world. We acknowledge the importance of working together to shape the future of health and transform the patient experience.

Embedded in our approach to patient care are three key principles: Partnership, Education, and Innovation and Advocacy. Read more of our stories to learn about the projects we've worked on and how we're getting the job done - with the help of our patient partners.

Our partners

As a person with a disability, we have a saying, that's called 'nothing about us without us'. If we're in the room, if we have a seat at the table, we know that will improve outcomes as we know they will hear our voices.
